Mix'd on iPhone

Mix'd is not on the App Store yet. It does not need to be. Open it in Safari, add it to your home screen and you get the whole thing: pairing across 970 flavours from 48 brands, the games, your lounges, all of it. Free, no account, nothing leaves your phone.

How to Add It to Your Home Screen

  1. Open It in Safari. Go to app.mixdshisha.com in Safari. It has to be Safari. Chrome and Firefox on iPhone cannot add anything to your home screen, that is an Apple rule rather than ours.
  2. Tap the Share Button. The square with the arrow coming out of the top, in the bar at the bottom of the screen. On an iPad it sits in the top right instead.
  3. Scroll Down to Add to Home Screen. It is in the second block of the share sheet, past the AirDrop row and past Copy. Keep scrolling, it is further down than you think.
  4. Tap Add. Top right. The icon lands on your home screen with the rest of your apps and opens full screen, no Safari address bar in sight.

If you tapped Share and cannot find Add to Home Screen, you are almost certainly in Chrome rather than Safari. Copy the link, paste it into Safari and try again.

What You Get

What Is Missing Compared to Android

Being straight with you, three things do not carry over. Apple keeps them behind the App Store rather than us leaving them out.

None of it stops the pairing working. Type the flavours your lounge has, which takes under a minute for most menus, and the engine scores them exactly as it does on Android.

Questions People Actually Ask

Is Mix’d on the App Store?

Not yet. Until it is, the web app is the way to get Mix’d on an iPhone. It goes on your home screen, opens full screen and works offline, and it costs nothing.

Do I need an account?

No. Mix’d has never had accounts. Everything you log stays in the app on your phone and nothing is uploaded anywhere.

Why does it have to be Safari?

Apple only lets Safari add web apps to the home screen. Chrome and Firefox on iPhone are Safari underneath but do not get the Add to Home Screen option, so open the link in Safari first.

Will I lose my data if I delete it?

Yes, the same as any app. Everything lives on your phone, so removing the web app removes what is in it. Export a backup from Settings first if you want to keep it.

Does my history stick around?

Add it to your home screen and yes. Safari clears data for sites you have not opened in a week, but a web app sitting on your home screen is exempt from that. If you only ever open it as a Safari tab, your lounges and streaks can vanish after seven quiet days, which is the real reason to add it properly.

Does the web app cost anything?

No. It is free, there are no adverts and there is nothing to unlock.
